In 1795 King Charles IV granted to Jose Maria de Guadalupe Cuervo to manufacture Mezcal under the name of Tequila outside the town of the same name, allowing e notable rise in the popularity of this drink. In 1844 Jose Cuervo, considering that his Tequila was marketed all over Mexico, decided to poetray his barrels with a crown letting to all the illiterate Mexicans recognize immediately the brand Cuervo. In 1873 there was the historical demand of Tequila from the U.S.A. where three bottles were sent on a donkey! From here onwards the Jose Cuervo Tequila began to expand relentlessly in the world.
